A creepy little ice cream truck came down the road today.
I only remember it happening one other time.
I tried to hide it from them but it didn't work.
Thank goodness she was selling pre-packaged items; I might not have let them eat it otherwise.

They changed the hunting regulations this year. I am not sure how but the moose must know it.
Never would you find one lurking around our neighborhood during open season but this guy was right outside my backdoor. NUTS!

Monday, August 29, 2011

Bev would have turned 46 years old today. This picture was taken one of the last times I saw her before the accident.

I just love this picture of the girls being nerds.
They pulled it off quite well, don't you think?

It was a stressful weekend but when it was all over the girls were in pretty good spirits.
They did an amazing job at ODP tryouts.
I am so proud of both of them.

Me and Christopher at his going away party. He is heading to flight school at Ft. Rucker for a year and a half.

Alli's Hotel had a pool so we crashed there for some Friday night fun!
Even Amber came by to hang out.

Friday, August 26, 2011

I had lunch today with Jocelyn & Jazzy at the mall.

Cali received her first homework this weekend.
We hauled to Anchorage with us so she could play her games each day we were here.

Thursday, August 25, 2011

On the way home from my Dad's tonight, Andrew, the girls and I spotted quite a few moose.
I took the evacuation route in hopes of seeing a bull- I've seen two this hunting season already.
I took this photo with Andrew's camera- he tells me he can fix the color, we'll see.
I like the composition of this picture. I'm not sure it's taken correctly but I like it.

This little Booger-man was lying on my lap this morning, just being cute!
Can you believe there was a day just looking at him this closely would send him scurrying
and now he lets me take his picture and even gets all proper for me! ;)

Cali was a little concerned about starting first grade. Her closest classmates from kindergarten are not in her class this year and when she found out she decided she did not want to attend school anymore.
I got her up a little early so we'd have a little time to spend together, just the two of us, before I had to take her in. While I was taking pictures, she decided we should take a funny picture so I asked her what her idea was. This was it! We decided this was what we thought about school!!!  Sometimes its just icky!
Fortunately we had a great morning and by the time I got her there she was doing great!

New shirt that I bought at the bookstore on my tour of Kathryn's campus.

Cori got her nails done and she is so proud of them.
Do you find it funny that she loves orange?
We all know it's a flirtatious color.
Flirtatious=Cori - that's a definite!

Sunday, August 21, 2011

I bought 2 packs, buy one get one free, used 2 coupons, total price was $.15. What a deal!!!

Every time Daddy gets on the plane Cali texts with him until his plane takes off.
And then he lights his phone up so we can see which window he is in.

Move in day with Kathryn at Southeastern University.

Cori does this ALL the time and it drives me crazy!
Isn't it terrible?

Cassi's cheer team this year is the largest it's ever been.
They combined the juniors and seniors to have 26 girls which will enable them to do so many more stunts.
Some of the senior girls are so sweet to Cassi Raye. She is really loving them!

Thursday, August 18, 2011

Holly planned a bowling birthday party for Wren.
Here Wren had just scored a strike~ Can't you see her pride?
At the end of the day, a momma is simply all about being happy for her baby, no matter how small the accomplishment, no matter how big he or she is.
We are all the same that way.  :)

Wednesday, August 17, 2011

On the way to Anchorage we stopped at the span bridge.
It is still very beautiful there although the bridge no longer swings so it isn't quite as exciting.
You can see how high we are and you can tell that although the bridge is sturdier,
it would still be rather dangerous if one were screwing around.

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

I headed to the beach with Cassi and Cali- it was a warm night a lord knows those shouldn't be wasted!
It was a little late when we went but enough light to get some nice photos.
I think I'll always be a child of the sea! It's where my heart and soul is always at peace!

Monday, August 15, 2011

The girls' friends, Isaac and Aidan, moved to Japan today. It's the first good friends they've known to leave. Isaac also happens to be Cori's first and only boyfriend. (From 5th grade) It was very hard to say goodbye, for all of us! I hope they are able to remain friends. It will be interesting to follow their friendships from here.
(Aidan is third from the left, Isaac is fourth.)

Sunday, August 14, 2011

Scott noticed Cali sitting on the trampoline looking rather sad
(Apparently no one wanted to play with her)
so he jumped on and they started playing 'crack the egg'.
Cassi joined in and as you can tell, there were smiles all around!

Saturday, August 13, 2011

Brunch with Aimee at Lupton's.

I told the kids this morning that we would have a late night bonfire at the beach.
As the day wore on and two parties later, the bonfire-goers grew
and it turned into an all out teenage beach party!
I fit right in! LOL
It truly was a fantastic night- we stayed until midnight- and I know we made some wonderful memories!

Friday, August 12, 2011

We went to the open gym today. Wren was staying with us so Cori dragged him along.
Somebody there asked me if they were 'going out' because they were so close.
I said, "What? Don't all brothers and sisters get along this well?"
I hope they stay this way. It's an amazing friendship they have!

Thursday, August 11, 2011

I took a late trip to Wal-Mart and when I pulled into the parking lot, this is what greeted me.
It reminded me of watercolors. I turned right back around,
went back to get Andrew and his camera- he wan't impressed.

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

Wow! My porch became a lake today with the rain we had.

Cassi had early cheer practice and the windows were dewy when we left.
She was proud of the face she made on the window.
She is easily amused.

Tuesday, August 9, 2011

I started the process of decorating my new kitchen. I bought a few items, but the spoon rest is the only thing I can display so far.

We have a lot of unpacking to do.
And if you can believe it, that bullet thing on top is full too!
We were gone 6 days, you need a lot of stuff for a week (almost)with a family of 5!

Monday, August 8, 2011

This is only the 2nd gag gift I have bought for my Aunt this year. I need to get busy!!!

On our last morning in Fairbanks, we didn't have to get to the fields until 11:45 so we lounged, just a little.
Can you believe these girls smooshed themselves into a double bed.
Talk about snuggling!

Sunday, August 7, 2011

Cali and I stayed behind while everyone else went to watch some early morning soccer.
Scott stopped by to drop off a donut for Cali. She'd just got out of the shower but she didn't care.
She sat on the cooler in all her naked glory and ate her capt'n crunch donut!  ( :

Saturday, August 6, 2011

Cassi's team played everyday, until Sunday.
There were more teams in her bracket.
She was the game captain this day so she is right next to the referees- at the start of the line.

Friday, August 5, 2011

This is several of Cassi's soccer team (the whole back row) on a ride at the fair.
It was a little hectic attending a fair with 9 girls from one team and about that many from the other
but the girls had fun and I suppose that's all that counts!

Thursday, August 4, 2011

This was the beginning of the first game of our state cup tournament.
Cori's team played first.
At the beginning of each game both teams come out to greet the fans, just like regulation soccer.

Wednesday, August 3, 2011

We stopped at Prospector's Pizza In Denali, on our way to Fairbanks.
A friend knows the owners and we wanted to be supportive.
It's a really neat place with a lot of vintage items and pictures.
The best part though was the roasted clove of garlic that came with our breadsticks.
Gosh was it good!

Tuesday, August 2, 2011

Scott has started wearing glasses (the magnifying kind) every now and then.
When I popped out the camera to take his picture, we both got the giggles.
It's still rather funny to both of us that he needs them.
At least aging is still funny to both of us- when it stops being funny, it's all downhill I suppose.

Monday, August 1, 2011

I caught Andrew working very late in sunglasses.
Yup, seriously!
I found it very funny!
