A creepy little ice cream truck came down the road today.

I only remember it happening one other time.

I tried to hide it from them but it didn't work.

Thank goodness she was selling pre-packaged items; I might not have let them eat it otherwise.

Never would you find one lurking around our neighborhood during open season but this guy was right outside my backdoor. NUTS!

On the way home from my Dad's tonight, Andrew, the girls and I spotted quite a few moose.

 I took the evacuation route in hopes of seeing a bull- I've seen two this hunting season already.

 I took this photo with Andrew's camera- he tells me he can fix the color, we'll see.

Cali was a little concerned about starting first grade. Her closest classmates from kindergarten are not in her class this year and when she found out she decided she did not want to attend school anymore.

I got her up a little early so we'd have a little time to spend together, just the two of us, before I had to take her in. While I was taking pictures, she decided we should take a funny picture so I asked her what her idea was. This was it! We decided this was what we thought about school!!!  Sometimes its just icky!

Fortunately we had a great morning and by the time I got her there she was doing great!

Cassi's cheer team this year is the largest it's ever been.

They combined the juniors and seniors to have 26 girls which will enable them to do so many more stunts.

Some of the senior girls are so sweet to Cassi Raye. She is really loving them!

Holly planned a bowling birthday party for Wren.

At the end of the day, a momma is simply all about being happy for her baby, no matter how small the accomplishment, no matter how big he or she is.

On the way to Anchorage we stopped at the span bridge.

 It is still very beautiful there although the bridge no longer swings so it isn't quite as exciting. 

You can see how high we are and you can tell that although the bridge is sturdier,

 it would still be rather dangerous if one were screwing around.

I headed to the beach with Cassi and Cali- it was a warm night a lord knows those shouldn't be wasted!

It was a little late when we went but enough light to get some nice photos. 

I think I'll always be a child of the sea! It's where my heart and soul is always at peace!

The girls' friends, Isaac and Aidan, moved to Japan today. It's the first good friends they've known to leave. Isaac also happens to be Cori's first and only boyfriend. (From 5th grade) It was very hard to say goodbye, for all of us! I hope they are able to remain friends. It will be interesting to follow their friendships from here.

I told the kids this morning that we would have a late night bonfire at the beach.

As the day wore on and two parties later, the bonfire-goers grew

and it turned into an all out teenage beach party!

I fit right in! LOL

It truly was a fantastic night- we stayed until midnight- and I know we made some wonderful memories!

We went to the open gym today. Wren was staying with us so Cori dragged him along.

Somebody there asked me if they were 'going out' because they were so close.

I said, "What? Don't all brothers and sisters get along this well?" 

I hope they stay this way. It's an amazing friendship they have!

On our last morning in Fairbanks, we didn't have to get to the fields until 11:45 so we lounged, just a little.

Cali and I stayed behind while everyone else went to watch some early morning soccer.

Scott stopped by to drop off a donut for Cali. She'd just got out of the shower but she didn't care.

Cassi's team played everyday, until Sunday.

There were more teams in her bracket.

She was the game captain this day so she is right next to the referees- at the start of the line.

This is several of Cassi's soccer team (the whole back row) on a ride at the fair. 

It was a little hectic attending a fair with 9 girls from one team and about that many from the other 

but the girls had fun and I suppose that's all that counts!

This was the beginning of the first game of our state cup tournament. 

Cori's team played first. 

At the beginning of each game both teams come out to greet the fans, just like regulation soccer.

We stopped at Prospector's Pizza In Denali, on our way to Fairbanks. 

A friend knows the owners and we wanted to be supportive. 

It's a really neat place with a lot of vintage items and pictures.

The best part though was the roasted clove of garlic that came with our breadsticks.

When I popped out the camera to take his picture, we both got the giggles.

It's still rather funny to both of us that he needs them.

At least aging is still funny to both of us- when it stops being funny, it's all downhill I suppose.
